A new podcast series launched by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is highlighting the stories of those working to combat climate change by reducing carbon emissions.

The first episode of The Climate Challengers, hosted by veteran TV broadcaster, news reporter, podcaster, and author Andrea Bain, is available on Spotify and other streaming platforms, as well as www.climatechallengers.com.

Each episode focuses on a clean energy topic and features expert guests sharing views on how the energy sector can evolve and innovate to tackle climate change. New episodes will be uploaded regularly, OPG stated in a press release.

Topics include “Why net-zero needs nuclear,” “The power of electrifying the transportation sector,” and “Emerging clean energy technologies.”

Sharing true stories

“There are incredible stories to be told about the people and work happening now – at OPG and elsewhere – to combat climate change. The Climate Challengers helps tell those stories,”

“At OPG, we recognize the serious threat climate change poses, and have set ambitious goals not only for the work we do, but to assist others in reaching net-zero,” OPG Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Heather Ferguson stated. “There are incredible stories to be told about the people and work happening now – at OPG and elsewhere – to combat climate change. The Climate Challengers helps tell those stories.”

Bain is the author of the book Single Girl Problems and hosts her own radio show/podcast of the same name.

“The Climate Challengers’ engaging and informative guests cover topics you might not know much about, or shed new light on those you are more familiar with,” she stated. “The podcast offers an opportunity for you to hear from the people doing the work to lead us forward toward an achievable post-carbon future.”
