Regional police have issued a warning after reports of a cougar roaming around the Waterloo region.

Police responded to a call of a cougar sighting on Sunday in North Dumfries Township, although when they arrived there was no evidence of the cougar and no other sightings have been reported.

On Sept.18, provincial police received a couple of reports of cougar sightings in the Huntsville area. After an extensive search by OPP and firefighters, they too were unable to locate the reported large cat.
