Here is a question for the expert- After using both possible spring tags, can a hunter go with another and call for him( no firearm for the caller, just calling.) Thoughts? Anyone know for sure?
You are permitted to call wild turkeys for another hunter after
filling your own licence(s), but you must not be in possession
of a firearm when doing so.

Question: If hunting with an apprentice hunter and they shoot a turkey in the morning, can the mentor shoot a turkey in the afternoon?
Greg, you would both need your own tags. Please find more current details here: https://www.ontario.ca/document/ontario-hunting-regulations-summary/wild-turkey#section-3
From the MNRF:”This will depend on whether the apprentice hunter has his or her own turkey tag, as well as who shot the turkey in the morning. Note that “party hunting” for turkey is not permitted, so the person who shoots the turkey must tag it, except in cases where a mentor is supervising an apprentice who does not have their own tag. If the apprentice has a turkey tag of his or her own, and shoots the turkey in the morning, then the apprentice must use his or her tag. The mentor can then shoot a turkey in the afternoon under the authority of his or her own turkey tag. If the apprentice does not have a turkey tag, then the turkey shot in the morning counts as the mentor’s turkey and the mentor cannot shoot a second turkey in the same day.
