Federal Fisheries Act review closes for comment tomorrow

Anglers and conservationists can have their ideas heard in a review of the federal Fisheries Act.

The first phase of the two-phase consultation closes on Friday, Nov. 25. It seeks feedback on the 2012-13 changes to the act. “We want to know your thoughts on restoring lost protections in the Fisheries Act,” the website states. “We also want to hear your ideas on how we can incorporate modern safeguards.”

The second phase of the consultation will seek input on new legislation and regulations. It will take place next spring.
