The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry announced on Friday, Nov. 14 that Rondeau Provincial Park will be closed to the public on the afternoons of Nov. 18, 20, 25, 26 and all day from Dec. 8 -12, 2014, for a deer herd reduction by aboriginal hunters from Delaware Nation of Moraviantown.

On Nov. 18, 20, 25 and 26, the deer herd reduction will begin at noon and end a half hour after sunset.

From Dec. 8-12, the deer herd reduction will begin one half-hour before sunrise and end one half-hour after sunset.

Park staff will be monitoring access points to the park to ensure the safety of the public.

The deer reduction program has been in place since 1998.
