For those with non-restricted firearm privileges needing to renew their Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) or Possession Only Licence (POL) soon, doing so by May 16, 2013 will save you $60.
The Canadian Firearms Program is waiving the $60 fee for the following:
- individuals renewing their POL or PAL;
- individuals upgrading their POL to a PAL;
- individuals obtaining a new POL or PAL after their previous one expired; and
- minors renewing their Minor’s Licence.
Any of the above items that are postmarked by May 16, 2013 will be eligible. Get more information about the fee waiver and eligible services on the RCMP website.
