With only 3 days left in the late bow season in wildlife management unit 55B, and on a -31 c day, Kris Lariviere bundled up to put in a long sit at his tree stand.
He saw this buck a week before but it didn’t come closer than 75 yards, not allowing Lariviere a good shot. On this day, though, it came within 25 yards of his tree stand, rooting for acorns.
“This is the biggest buck that I have harvested so far and I am definitely hooked on late season bowhunting,” he said. “This buck has tons of character with split brow tines and 12 points. He weighed in at 200 pounds with a 24-inch spread.”
