The Trent-Seven Waterway navigation season will open on schedule for the Victoria Day long weekend on Friday, May 16 at 10 a.m.
The 386-kilometre, 42-lift lock route linking Lake Ontario’s Bay of Quinte and Lake Huron’s Georgian Bay first opened in 1922. It’s managed by Parks Canada and is designated a National Historic Site.
Hours set
From May 16 to June 19, lockstations will be open 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday (and Victoria Day, May 22).
From June 20 to Sept. 1, lockstations will be open 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday to Sunday (and Canada Day, July 1, Civic holiday Aug. 4, and Labour Day, Sept. 1).
From Sept. 2 to Oct. 13, lockstations will be open 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, including Thanksgiving on Oct. 13
Station opening and closing times, as well as first and last lockage, are not guaranteed and may be affected by water management duties, maintenance activities or other types of navigation interruptions, officials stated.
