Strike King

Strike King, one of the fishing industry’s most iconic brands, has been acquired by Lew’s, a holding corporation that also owns Mr. Crappie, Hunter’s Specialties, and Buck Bomb.

The news, announced on Nov. 6, brings both companies under the umbrella of Peak Rock Capital, a middle market equity firm.

Strike King, based in Collierville, Tennessee, was founded in 1964 and is well-known for its lures, fishing glasses, terminal tackle, and accessories.

Gary Remensnyder, CEO of Lew’s commented, “Similar to Lew’s, Strike King has been tremendously successful because of its focus on product innovation, outstanding marketing, and exceptional service to its retail partners and consumers. Lew’s and Strike King share a common vision to provide cutting-edge products to anglers and best-in-class service to their retail partners.”

Peter Leibman, Managing Director of Peak Rock Capital, added, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to invest in the combination of the Lew’s and Strike King brands. The brands and product lines are highly complementary, and we’re excited to further support the rapid growth of the overall company, while seeking additional acquisitions…”

When asked if the change of ownership will have any implications for the Ontario and Canadian market, Managing Director Daniel Yunger responded, “It’s business as usual at the company.”
