Gill winter angler bibs and jacket

What it is

Lightweight, waterproof, insulated jacket and bibs. The cold-weather version of the Gill suit we tested a couple of years back.

The test

I wore this combo for two seasons, from ice-out to late fall, for small game hunts, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and even skiing.

What we think

Itʼs definitely a quality suit. The best part is I don’t really even think about it at all. Itʼs light but well insulated. I can wear the jacket on cool summer mornings and also when ice fishing. As long as I’m not standing still for long periods, a T-shirt is all I ever need under it, even in winter.

While it’s durable, the suit is not work wear. After two seasons of heavy use, I have one small tear but it hasn’t spread at all. The suit is so versatile, it’s become pretty much the only thing I wear outside of big game hunting.
