Excalibur Crossbow has voluntarily recalled its detachable C2 Crank Cocking Aid after some 537 reports of the device breaking and causing dangerous flying projectiles and laceration hazards.
Those in possession of this product are urged to cease using it immediately, the company stated in an undated recall notice.
“The safety of our customers is our top priority,” Excalibur stated. “We would like to inform you that, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, we are issuing a voluntary recall of all C2 Cranks (model number 2199) distributed in commerce in the United States. The affected products were manufactured, imported, distributed, and sold by Excalibur between 2008 and 2021.”
