Canada’s best, including Bassmaster Elite Series pros Cooper Gallant and Jeff Gustafson, will compete against anglers from more than 10 countries at the 2024 Pan-American Black Bass Championship coming to the Saint John River in Fredericton, New Brunswick from Sept. 25 to 29.

Gustafson, an OOD contributor from Kenora, is a Bassmaster Classic champion and two-time Elite Series champ, while series sophomore Gallant, of Bowmanville, has already hoisted the trophy at the Bassmaster Open.

Team Canada will include some of the most recognizable anglers in the country, including David Chong, Peter Garnier, and Joe Ford. It will be captained by fishing icon Bob Izumi, who will partner with 2023 Canada Bass Pro-Am winner Adam James Kirk Foster, and two-time team Canada Bass gold medalist Bob MacMillan. The squad of pros will be rounded out by Canada Bass Team members Jason Hare and Graeme Mace, as well as 2020 Pan-Am gold medalists Phil Curtis and Brent Valere.
