    Default DRONES

As some here may already know I have an acerage which has some very knarly holes. I guess it has a few of our dwindling deer herd because of this jungle type terrain. I want to see what's going on there without killing myself. So I'm thinking DRONE. Can anyone recommend one good enough to take video, strap my gopro to, live feed back to my phone or however it images it does well enough and no crashes etc, but will still leave me mortgage free I'd appreciate.

Ideally it would some how give me feedback as to where it was while it took film, cause coming back with loads of pics but I can't plot them on map ain't to good

Holy smokes, you post last night at 8;19 and looking for suggestions 12 hours later. The crowd that can supply answers were out partying at 8:00 last night and are still recovering at this time.

I sure some techy will supply an answer.. Be patient, don't move in your stand the deer may hear you!

    LOL

I would look for some other camera type forums for information. Google can be your friend!
Just be careful about how you use the drone as using it for scouting may be considered as hunting by MNR. I believe there have been some posts about this or possible an article in OOD magazine.

I didn't know the "METRO NORTH RAIL" still ran. That's about all I've seen MNR mean in the last 2+ decades

I do a lot of research for drones, so maybe I can fill in you on this. There are lot of drones out there but if you want to be able have 20+ min in the air and live feed to your tablet on the ground. Yes its possible, but you're looking to spend in total of $2000 CDN, easy.

Start looking to 3DR's (3drobotics.com) earlier models under hobby and mapping section can fill in the minimum requirements for you. Plus they have some of the free software available for pre-flight programing your drone path and emergency landing. I do recommend it based on research for new users, but again its not a cheap toy, you crash, you cry.

Another is uh... DJJ (djj.com) one of the biggest marketers in drones too; same competition but price varies.

If you want a custom built; go to hobbyking.com and start picking out your own pre-build drone from the community of 3DR; http://diydrones.com/

I should mention, buy a small simple drone for indoor training. shouldn't be longer than 20-30 cm. Trust me, without auto pilot feature, its harder than it looks. use an empty space to test it out, then use the drone from standing still to move around obstacles (not people) if you have depth perception up to 25 yards.
