Maple Leafs.......
Yeah.....10 straight now. Gotta be getting tough to lace em up these days.

They thought things were bad with Carlyle, he was the best part of their team.
I am a die hard leafs fan but I could care less if I see another game this year. I am actually glad that Rogers and Bell are teaming up to screw over the fans by making them pay another $40 a month to watch games, it makes it easier to find other things to do with my time.

Has too much time on their hands
As a die hard Leaf fan for many years...50 or so...I don;t even watch a complete game anymore.
I PVR the game, and check my phone app to see when any (if any) goals were scored.
I then fast forward and do my own little "highlite" thing.
The Leafs have been mostly crap for years but this year is the first I actually have no interest what so ever.
Really don't know what the answer is......there are too many areas needing a fix.
Think I'll take the wife to a dinner and movie this Saturday....now that is a first for a Saturday night!!!!!

In a market like Toronto with so many devoted fans it make's it hard to understand how they just can't assemble a good organization.

It's because they don't need to. MLSE could put Leafs jerseys on a team of monkeys and they'd sell out every game. We need to do what the fans did in Chicago. Game after game, for almost 4 years, the arena was virtually empty. Toronto needs the same treatment.

Pardon the pun but in the same """boat""" as FISH24/7, only been suffering a little bit longer, I haven't watched more than 5 minutes of a game since they fired Caryle, he saw what little strength's this team had ( scoring goals ) and them play run and gun hockey, not going to work in the long run but go with what you got, not what you don't have . Not sure they would fire an interim coach but he certainly isn't the answer. you have Reilly, Kessel and JVR and if you can trade the rest , well good luck because your only going to get garbage back, they have needed a big # 1 centerman for the last 10 years or more and did they go get one, no. almost every player on this team is playing out of their position, what I mean by that is Bozak at most is a # 2 and maybe even a # 3 center on a good team, on the leafs he has to be their # 1 so playing about 6-8 minutes a game more than he should be and in those extra minutes it shows why he isn't a # 1. and on down the line for 98% of the team, every one of them playing more minutes ( and making more mistakes ) than they would on any other GOOD TEAM. As you can see I'm a passionate leaf fan but they make it harder and harder ever day to even follow them let alone watch a game. they need to figure out who the best 1 or 2 GM's are and go after them, same with the new coach, figure out who you consider the top 2 or 3 and spare no money and get them, build from there. Your proud to be a member of LEAF NATION, just not proud of the product on the ice right now.

Yup as I understand the richest team in the league ? Someone correct me if I'm wrong? Still sell out / make ton's of money no need to spend . Missed their last cup by a few year's maybe I'll still be alive if and when their next one come's by?

Yup. Champions are always built around focusing on their strengths while making a reasonable effort to limit their weaknesses.
The Cup winning Penguins used their overwhelming firepower and youthful endurance to overpower their opponents in long playoff grinds. They made sure they were just good enough defensively to allow fewer goals than they scored - barely.
The Cup winning Devils used their extreme physicality, defensive stars and HoF goaltending to beat their opponents into submission through long playoff grinds. They made sure they held their opponents to just one goal less than the Devils scored - barely.
Any coach/gm that builds for "balance", adheres blindingly to a "system", and is so afraid of failing at the things his team is already poor at... misses the whole point of having star players with certain talents in the first place.
As a Sens and Bruins fan though... i could not be happier that the Leafs continue to avoid putting their house in order. This rebuild could go another 15 years, easy!
