"AI Overview

+9
In 2023, Canada experienced a substantial increase in population, adding approximately 1.27 million people, with the majority of this growth attributed to temporary residents. This makes it the largest annual population growth since 1957. While the statement "Canada let in 1.2 million immigration" is accurate in the sense that 1.2 million people were added to the population through immigration, it doesn't fully reflect the dynamics of immigration, which includes both permanent and temporary residents.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Total Population Increase:
Canada's population grew by 1.271,872 people between January 1, 2023, and January 1, 2024, according to Statistics Canada.
Immigration Impact:
Immigration, both permanent and temporary, accounted for the vast majority of this growth, with temporary residents contributing the largest share.
Temporary Residents:
Non-permanent residents (NPRs), including permit holders and asylum claimants, added 804,901 to the population in 2023.
Permanent Residents:
While the statement focuses on "letting in," it's important to note that Canada also continues to admit permanent residents through various pathways, such as the Express Entry system and Provincial Nominee Programs.
Future Adjustments:
The Canadian government has also announced a plan to reduce the volume of temporary residents to a more sustainable level, according to a statement from the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship.""

Who's the best to defeat trump lol
Trump didn't start our problems I talked about kicking the can down during the pandemic. There was signals well before that. I think I've asked what the plans been for a half decade here. You can't loose a decade of living standards and blame trump.
Homelessness is up food banks are at record breaking numbers we are biulding houses at same pace as the 70s. When housing starts are down you don't bring in 1.2 million people a year while only starting 220 thousands homes.
Trumps fault carry-on

Not all Trump but his actions are exposing the faults we have allowed to develop. Canada was on a better path until the electorate got rid of the boring older guy in favour of the idiot with sexy hair. After that……

Thanks. I didn't realize there were so many temporary residents. The stats I checked out only show the immigrants accepted for permanent status.

It is a crazy number freeland said it would keep us out of a recession. New spending did keep us out of a recession but it's not the right way to biuld your economy. You don't neglect your own citizens to stimulate the economy with new spending. It's another set up for a disaster or leaves us in a so called crisis at the moment. We didn't better our economy we only used the newcomers to keep us afloat awhile while neglecting the real problems we are facing today.
It's one of the reasons I've been asking what our plan is to better ourselves, our economy, our future of Canada.
Still see no plan.

The empire is a great position being the largest economy has its benefits including helping its neighbors and others around the world. But when it's being threatened all bets are off and they will work on their own economy. We shouldn't expect them to save our butts when they are so close to loosing that status. They only have 1 goal in mind and it is to keep that status alive will it work?
I'm starting to have my doubts as all the weffers standing tall crying foul. When they all should of been taking care of their own in the first place. How many billions are being funded by the left to ngos and their protest? Couple of the latest protest are supported and backed by 1%ers funny how that works. I did a deep dive into that last week . Pretty sad .
Maybe that's what happens when you use an overseas organization to shape your global and regional economy, business and trade. If we worked on Canada decades ago for the best interests of Canadians we wouldn't have this problem today. They are about profits nothing more what's the best way for them to profit?..
We can't really blame China either we started that 40 years ago for profits. Did they steal our technology or does the innovation really come out at the source of production?
Why's are cattle heards kept down yet the price keeps going up and our pop rises? The heards keep going down in size driving up that price. Don't worry we will import it so it's more affordable lol. Still haven't bought any of that ungraded beef crap yet nor the australia beef. What about making food more affordable right here in Canada.
Oh yeah his fancy hair was a hit, a hit right to our economy lol.
I still can't blame trump from the decades of neglect. Trump is only doing what any other person would do to keep their empire alive. We can either stand with them or go against him like we are doing.
Then a new empire rises. What will that look like ? A digital future? A world were your just a number walking down the road ? A world where machines and ai does everything for you? Who will rise next ? A world where you will rent everything you want as things will be delivered by drones. A world were we don't have to think for ourselves?
Millions of jobs are at risk.
