A reader asks if it's legal to snare rabbits in Wildlife Management Unit (WMU) 50, which extends north of Huntsville to South River.
What can I but enumerate old themes,
First that sea-rider Oisin led by the nose
Through three enchanted islands, allegorical dreams,
Vain gaiety, vain battle, vain repose,
Themes of the embittered heart, or so it seems.

I kind of think it is odd you cant used stainless steel wire in Ontario. I have seen it sold in stores locally for that purpose.

Likely something to do with tensile strength of the wire and how much force it takes to break.

I’m guessing Brass wire is “more sensitive” and it’s a more ethical kill than steel. Way back when I set snares it was always brass wire and a thin gauge. My dad and I always had fun with it checking our snares in the morning. Those rabbits ran all night to keep warm -40. There was always snares that rabbits ran right through. Fun times wmu22
