Wouldn’t it be something if all the parties worked together to better Canada. A bit of give and take, maybe some cooperation, a dash of compromise, a little more accountability and less excuses, then what would we have? Heck, I’m sure left and right could find middle ground if they cared to try. But it’s a lot easier to slander each other and claim solely to have the “best” direction forward. The idea of party lines is in itself a matter of division. Shouldn’t we be doing a whole lot more working together?

That would be wonderful except it is not happening, so basically now one party has made itself completely redundant and the other parties are getting on with business for Canadians.

One good turn deserves another brother. That would be wonderful except it isn't happening, so now basically one part has made itself completely redundant and the other parties are getting on with business for the World Economic Forum which nobody voted for. There you go fixed it for ya. No need to thank me, more then willing to help a forum member out.

The polarization between parties simply makes us weaker.

Hard to accomplish this when the PM calls 5.75 million Canadians Nazis.

I remember back when Jack Layton was running, he would have been the best person as a leader, but his parties platform was not. A fiscally conservative government with Jack Layton as leader would have been something I could have backed, he would talk to anyone, our current PM walks out of the room when anyone asks him a question he does not like.

Agree! Jack was head and shoulders above anyone in government today.

Checks and balances usually ensure that no one person or department has absolute control over decisions, clearly define the assigned duties, and force cooperation in completing tasks. The term is most commonly used in the context of government but also refers to limiting power in businesses and organizations.

We need an open transparent government and when things get investigated they shouldn't be able to just black out the paperwork.

Not just a government that will take advantage of you and use a pandemic as an opportunity to further fit their agenda. They should at least be honest to what it will cost to achieve.

The Parliamentary multi-party system with one party as an official opposition guarantees a system of checks and balances which is very important to prevent the ruling party from becoming a bona fide dictatorship with horrendous results for civil rights, liberty and freedom.
