    Saw this today.

Awesome I hope this kind of action ramps up, until the dictatorship ends in this country.

I love it that ordinary people can still be pushed into civil disobedience. Common place in Europe, hardly ever here.

What is interesting is that LEO's are leading the charge.
If a state of emergency is declared at the federal level then we will get troops on the street corners.
They planned this a year ago.

When you say "they" do you mean the organizers or are you referring to the feds and the associated possible troop deployment?

As much as it might provide an opportunity to test out the effectiveness of my first COVID-19 vaccination, an event like this might well open the door to extending the current wave of the virus or serve as a transmission ground for a possible 4th wave. You may dress this freedom you seek as some type of political protest, but real freedom will come from eventually putting this virus behind us, something that crowd gatherings have a way of impeding, as they providing an environment to foster the virus' transmission. For the love of freedom call the event to He** Off, until this virus gets done-in. Then if you want to rally for political freedom knock yourselves out. As you might guess I am not inspired to join you, at this point in time common sense dictates it would be stupid to do so.

The alternative viewpoint it that large group gatherings help to spread a virus that is for 96% of people a non issue. They get the virus with mild symptoms or better asymptomatic. Much like the annual flu.

The outcome is that a greater majority of people will get natural immunity and stop the virus from continuing to spread.

This is what has happened in much of Europe and Southern US. Natural 'herd' immunity has allowed the economy to continue without lockdowns and people to enjoy their freedom and their lives.

Our Government has decide to try and stop everyone from getting sick thru social isolation and business lockdowns. All for a virus that will not be eradicated by these vaccines that only really prevents you from getting hospitalised....which gone unchecked still only affects about 1% of the population.

to be accurate: there have been 24,000 Covid hospitalisations in Ontario with has a population of 14 million, so that is .8% of the population

The people that are vaccinated and still live in fear are welcome to wear their mask and stay at home.
The others will exercise their Canadian right of lawful assembly and protest from these unjustified lockdowns.

"Both are beginning to signal it may be more months of social distancing, mask wearing and hunkering in our homes before they believe it is safe to lift lockdowns and other restrictions."

"However, as much as they claim to be guided by experts, such excess caution is driven more by politics than science."

"On Tuesday, Trudeau told reporters that daily infection numbers would have to be “way down” from where they are now before the federal government could recommend reopening. Even if we all get in line and take a vaccine, it could be summer before he feels safe letting Canadians enjoy even the simplest restored freedoms."

"Similarly with Tam. On the weekend, she told an online forum that even the fully vaccinated can still spread and contract COVID-19. Therefore, reopening could be months away."

"It is no surprise both Trudeau and Tam are in favour of extended lockdowns. Neither faces any consequences from continued economic restrictions. Neither will lose income, a business or a home."

"They’re also believers in Big Government solutions, so they don’t see the dangers to personal freedom from continued infringements on Charter rights."

"Marc Hetherington, a political scientist at the University of North Carolina, has conducted extensive research in the United States on the correlation between political views and COVID perceptions."

"It probably holds true in Canada, too."

"Hetherington found that the further left someone is, the more afraid they were of developing a serious case of the coronavirus and the more comfortable they were with restrictions on their freedoms (and others’) to keep them safe."

"Such attitudes, though, are not supported by the science of COVID. Yet lefty lovers of lockdowns typically argue the science is on their side, even though it isn’t."

Real patient lives are at risk when their surgeries are cancelled to save beds for computer modeled Covid patients. I asked Christine Elliott how many lives are lost by canceling surgeries vs. how many lives saved?
If beds are full then release the data for all to see! But WHY cancel surgeries of ambulatory patients who DON'T NEED a BED! Christine Elliott’s answer reminds me of FordNation saying that anyone who needs a legal aid certificate can call his office and get one.
    Hospital occupancy yesterday:
    - Toronto ICU is 81% (goal is <90%)
    - Toronto acute 84% (goal is <90%)
    - Province ICU is 2,033/2,412 = 84%
    - Field Hospitals = ~ empty
    Ontarians want our healthcare back!

All well and good MikePal but as it stands right now we are being held hostage not by our political leadership, but by a virus, and the fact that the 1% is tying up our hospitals services and IUC capacity and providing the government with the excuse to keep things shutdown. Plus natural immunity is likely to be along time coming, if this virus is continually being given the opportunity to reinvent itself which large gathering provide, in spite of them providing for the possibility for herd immunity. But each to their own, so have fun at the freedom rally, and spread the immunity, as you see fit. I prefer to take my chances with the shutdowns and the vaccination approach. I suspect only time will tell what is the best approach on this side of the ocean. . .
What I find interesting is the fact, that initially the risk of getting blood clots from the AstraZeneca vaccine was pinned at 4 in 1 million, depending on demographics, now seems it has dropped to 1 in 60,000 in Ontario and 1 in 50,000 elsewhere, and there appears to be a reluctance in offering it as a first shot application, apparently there is a stall because of supply?
It is truly amazing how % and odds play out, and what excuses get offered. .
