Has too much time on their hands
Well just pick and choose what you can afford and think the quality is worth the difference... eglifarm.ca , jm.c/, etc. I find the quality and durability makes up for the prices (wearing both today)
Before you buy look around there are often opportunities, EgliFarm has made in Canada socks ... but so does Frontier Firearms
https://frontierfirearms.ca/duray-wo...ade-in-canada/
The winter boots I used for office, shopping, driving etc are Made in Canada and are now starting a 3rd winter.... and there are other manufacturers..
https://cansumer.ca/boot-brands-canada/
you can even get boots in Seal Skin
https://www.furcanada.com/seal-skin-boots/
and gloves and many other furs here, scarves ... mink, fox, lynx...https://www.furcanada.com/fur-scarves/

I ordered a few things from Amazon, that I just couldn't or wouldn't get anywhere else. I felt dirty.
Other things I've tried to give the gift of a little business to those I personally know who sell things. So win/win

China is good at making tools, don't have to worry much about defective sockets and wrenches sold by Princes Auto. If it wasn't for all the cheap tools from China I would not have as many. By the way most SnapOn and Mac Tools are also made in China as well as readers etc.
Yes my boots are made in Canada as well.

In any even I think the Chinese stuff costs more .... you have to replace it 10x more ... and it is such a consumption of our time and resources, to replace, replace, replace ... gas, warranty claims, personal time .... not to mention the piles/heaps of garbage building up on our dumps ... who considers that cost?

Not many even think about recycling, the old boots work boots I had, steeltoe and leather upers became essentially slip on shoes and the leather cut up for misc
Of course then there is the Liberal approach, if it is free and made in Canada buy it somewhere else.
Distillers scrambled to make hand sanitizer for free. Then the federal government moved on
Millions spent on foreign-made hand sanitizer that dozens of distillers churned out for free

Many goods Made in China do not even make Chinese people richer. They do got jobs, and China is booming ,people enjoy reasonably good income-they would not have so much ,as they have now.....
But the profit goes to Big Corporations, which are from all over the World.
So the US or Canadian BIG Corporations (among others)fill their pockets with US or Canadian money(after we buy their product-which was made overseas FOR THEM ,using cheap labor),with littler regards to US or Canada.
That is one of the things Trump tried to control-tax or reduce, by tariffing China goods-give us back some of the money You- Big Corporation ,made on us!
Alas all this was pushed down, marginalized or ridiculed by many(because it did not work for the BIG ones......)then the Covid did him in.
I do not think he had a style ,or was a Public figure, but sure as hell, for many many years there was no other leader to stand up in a way for US ,as he did.

and even getting invitations from lovers of dictatorship/tyrants
Trudeau government invited Chinese forces to Canada for cold weather training
https://tnc.news/2020/12/09/trudeau-...ther-training/
An explosive new document reveals that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invited the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to conduct cold weather training on Canadian soil in 2019.
According to the 34-page access to information cache obtained by Rebel News, the PLA forces were invited to train at CFB Petawawa in Ontario, but it was eventually cancelled following China’s illegal arrest of Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor.
Liberal politicians won't like me but I will be going out of my way to not buy from a regime that would send tanks to run over student protesters etc.
P.S.
A good one I think .... "we need to educate people on what kind of threat China is"
