If it was not for the Provincial and Federal subsidies the TTC receive they would close their doors - please see page 20/60 in the attached TTC Annual Report. The TTC ridership cannot even pay 1/2 the total operating cost of the TTC. In fact it is the people of Ontario and the good taxpayers of Canada that are subsidizing the TTC riders.

Wow.......and you had a financial background? Who did you work for.......Nortel?

    https://www.ttc.ca/Coupler/Annual_Re...l%20Report.pdf

TTC total operating revenue is only $1.264B
The TTC accepts $2.143 in government subsidies (Provincial and Federal)
The TTC total expenses is $2.921B
Sorry maybe I have to fill in the blanks. The TTC doesn’t pay for the Lindsay bus line. The taxpayers of the GTA ( almost 5 million of us), who take the TTC , subsidies the infrastructure outside of the city, including transportation outside of the GTA. You are aware that most infrastructure funding comes from the Federal government. From income taxes ,5 million of us, and taxes to businesses . Most major corporations have their Canadian head office in Toronto. The TSC is here, you know the thing to watch if you have horses in the race,.The income taxes from those living in urban areas provide rural areas with services they otherwise could not fund. I guess the problem is that even if you are a citiot, pay your income taxes, one person ,one vote, some people think that your vote should not count as much as someone outside the city? And how your money is spent!

Fish you couldn't not even fill in the blanks with 4" paint brush. Wow........5 million citioits.......that is almost a bazillion idiots? Seriously you still cannot read an Annual Financial Report can you. TTC makes $1.2B and has an Operating Budget of $2.9B - you should thank each and every person outside of GTA for the $2.14B hand out! How long do you think your parade will last after shutting down Alberta? Ontario is a hands out province and once Mr. Fancy socks starts taxing business they will leave in droves. As it is Toronto residents do not even pay their fair share in property taxes........they pay the lowest in Ontario - https://www.blogto.com/real-estate-t...s-all-ontario/

All my main stocks are all traded on NYSE.......and yes I am familiar with it's little, under performing brother the TSE.

I suppose you can then explain away companies like GM,Ford, all getting bailed out with taxpayers money.Did the Liberals also cause this to happen,or how about the big banks, who were busy collapsing the housing market and selling phoney mortgages in bundles around the World also collapsing their economies.ALL STARTED BY CONSERVATIVE POLICIES of freeing up Wall Street from regulations, look what happened.

How much cash did you loose in 2009,I know I lost plenty, enough to pay my portion of Canada's debt.

The rape of the rural taxpayers, what a crock of chit.

Listen I have both types of property, my Mississauga taxes subsidize Caledon and have done so for the past 35 years.

My taxes on my rural property are subsidized by all Ontario taxpayers because I use the Managed Forest Tax incentive programme. But I also still pay my rural taxes on my cabin, which BTW supports your police and school system and I have never had children in school up there.Your rural taxes are a joke compared to what Urban people pay.

If your complaining about MPAC thank Mike Harris and the common sense revolution, another f--- up.

In my rural municipality we have TWO TRAILER parks with part time residents who now control the entire council, due to MPAC
and Mr Harris's greed for MORE TAX MONEY.

The average home around the GTA is around 1 million and going up.

The Canadian government have no option but to bring more immigrant's INTO THIS COUNTRY OF IMMIGRANTS.

Our population is aging and we need people to contribute to our economy and keep all the social programmes running that WE ALL DRAW from.

If we got no more immigrant's tomorrow we would become a backwater. Thanks in part to Canadians who are so self indulgent
and want all the toys that they forgot they needed to pop out the odd child to support them in old age.

Debt levels are high because plenty of people live BEYOND their means, Government debt levels are high Worldwide.

When your stocks go down the t-- after they have played with your money as they did in 2009,you might not feel so smug.

Ford never asked for any bailout money if i remember correctly. Funny thing is now that we have a conservative provincial government, GM is coming back to Oshawa.
I lost lots of money in 09, I worked and made it all back, nothing was given to me. My hand has never taken handouts from the government. I was raised to realize if I want something than go out and work for it.

Well that is OK my friend, GM ship's off the union jobs to Mexico and use the Mexicans as slave labour at $2.50 an hour and thy get no benefits. The CEO gets a great big bonus, the stock holders get their dividend and what do you get at the dealership when you go get that shiny new truck.

Do you get the truck for the $10,000 it cost them in labour and materials (I,am being generous here) now so much is made by robots.
NO you get shafted for about $50,000 for the truck, where did all the other money saved FROM THE GREEDY UNIONS GO TO?
