Let's look at that Epps video a little closer.
The Epps measurements were .692" at the choke and .818" at the bore's widest point for a .126" difference. The standard constriction of a tight 12 gauge full choke is .040" while the tightest turkey choke I could find is .060" meaning the choke on the Epps shotgun is over twice the constriction of the tightest choke on the market.
The question it raises for me is how long the Epps gunsmith spent reaming that barrel. A .818" bore is larger than a 10 gauge and is closer to an 8 gauge. Yeah, sure it came from the factory that way.

.... yep .... you can trust the RCMP and Bill Blair......
"Further, in making classification assessments of firearms which are reflected in the FRT, the CFP relies on recognized industry standard measurements. With respect to 10ga and 12ga shotguns, the CFP recognizes the SAAMI standard specifications which establish that the nominal (i.e. standard) bore diameter measurements for 10ga and 12ga shotguns are below the 20mm threshold (19.69mm for 10ga, 18.42mm for 12ga)."
.... which contrasts with Canadian Border Services.... and uh ... where is the LEGAL definition? Not some industry standard? The industry standard for most of the rifles banned in this insult of a legislation is to call them semi-automatic .... by that logic .... does that make all semi-automatics also Assault rifles by liberal definition?

The issue of this thread.. The OP's Topic... was specific the 'bore' size restriction for shotguns...
This RCMP press release has put that issue to bed.

They are adhering to a STANDARD... where is the LEGAL definition?
This is the same RCMP that just before the registry disappeared there was that deal with the .22 rifles... remember that, the flood in Alberta where they seemed to have access to some kind of list of firearms owners had....
... so do you trust Bill Blair and the RCMP without a legal definition... I mean they have added atleast 2 more Cadex rifles to the list since it was put out, why not a definition like "midpoint" or X inches.... but hey if you trust them... as for me based on their performance and history... I think Jody W.R. probably trusted the PM too... and voters did
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY3I2ewuxQ0 the evidence though....
Not so much, not without a clear, in writing and specific LEGAL definition.... not an industry standard or policy... that also is in contrast to Canadian Border Services.... I've seen standards and policies change too many times in company related things and to trust politicians like these and the RCMP brass....

For those that want to trust an opinion or policy and not have it in writing...
.... as an example, from Ellwood Epps ...
"Bore Diameter of Iver Johnson 12ga 2 3/4", measuring at 20.777mm"

Simple question here, not trying to be a smartass but isnt he suppose to measure the barrel diameter after the action, you know, where the shell enters the barrel....
