    Default Wynne loses byelection

WOW. Wynne couldn't find enough people to bribe in a Liberal stronghold? What's happening here? Yes, she actually lost yesterday and a PC won.

Let's not start planning the parade just yet. It was a by-election. Wynne and the teachers are still on vacation for the summer. If the PCs can repeat come the general election, then I will get excited.

I agree. The Conservatives are well known to be the worst campaigners in the game. They need to learn from the best and just lie during the campaign. Works well in Canada.

A pretty impressive victory in an area of a Liberal fortress!

Don't count the teachers and Wynne with the same brush. She's about to lose their support as well across the province. Too bad we didn't have a process to remove her now!

Wynne just said on radio that she been hearing from voters about how high the price of electricity is and then said the government needs to look at this, what a buffoon she sold us out so she has a cushy job with one of these groups when she looses and is out of politics

I disagree that it was impressive. It didn't shift the balance of power at Queen's Park. Wynne was off for the summer.

As for counting the teachers and Wynne together, the unions backed the Liberals twice the past two elections with their message from the Working Families Ontario. They actively campaigned against the PCs. As a nice little bonus in a ten year period 2003-2013, the Ontario government gave this coalition of unions $83 million dollars. Out the top five highest unions paid out, three of them were the teachers union (http://www.workingcanadians.ca/wp-co...in-Ontario.pdf). The Liberals used the people of Ontario's money to pay a coalition to lobby against it's opponent (I am still unsure how it was done legally). So sorry, I do consider the Liberals and the teachers union ugly bedfellows. The unions prostituted themselves out and while teachers may not like it (and I wonder the percentage of them don't), nothing will change.

So she has screwed us into a corner and she wants to help us out of it? People are drowning in electricity bills. Her policies are the ones that got us here in the first place. Based on her track record, her help might consist of holding our heads under the water until we stop moving.

    Careful Dyth.

When you speak the truth PS Unions and a lot of their memebers don't like to hear it. Even here. Ask Tim Hudak.
    lol.

Im well past blaming McGuinty or Wynne. The blame rest solely on those who champion them ( let's over look how well they've been treated in the process) and on those who voted for them. Problem is, despite some early signs of people either finding their moral compasses, or starting to feel the pain themselves, it's too late. The damage is so bad in some areas it may be "un-fixable".

Losing this riding is "significant" in so much as, they have held it from the day it was created. It won't change anything at QP, but is a blow none the less.

I don't know John. I think I can still blame the politicians when they still trot out the old "It's Mike Harris' fault" mantra.

    Lol!!!
    sad but true that.

this has been covered so many times though. The warnings were there in 2008. More so in 2010/2011 when Drummond had to be brought in. All the "griping" as some here called it about spending, debt, pandering to Union, the economy .....Then again in 2014. Its way past time people put the blame solely where it belongs. Ms Wynne sickens me, make no mistake. But if a parole board let's a sociopath (say Picton) back into the public who then goes on another spree. Who is responsible. Picton?

the cities lack of moral compass, the Unions greed, the corruption, their members self interest ahead of the greater good. And the other sad FACT is, all those responsible, aen't paying the same prices. The economic downturn hit rural Ontario hard, hydro hits those outside the golden TA harder, and on and on.

not sure how people can look in the mirror, and all of it was warned about (be it pandering to the unions, especially prior to 2011), be it the corruption, or their ineptitude.

So yup, it's past time those responsible for "turning Picton loose" and no one but. Shoulder it.
