    Default Interesting Facts, "Where do the Bad Guys Live ? "

    In the latest OOD mag . a very interesting article ;

    2015 Hunting -Related Convictions by Region;

    Northwest Region- 44 convicted
    Northeast Region -31 convicted
    Southern Region -54 convicted

    Total 129 major convictions, out of these only a total of 14 did not live in the region or province.

    So what does this tell us ? that the vast majority of hunting/fishing related crimes are perpetrated by locals, who by the way usually try to place the blame on people living out of the region or province which the facts show is not the case.

    This discussion about where poachers/criminals in the hunting /fishing world come from has been discussed many times on this forum , now we all know where most of them are from, they are local and home grown .

    No surprise there! They feel comfortable in their own back yard and know what they can get away with.

    But then again, don't most people hunt in their local area? If a an offence is being made (percentage wise) it's going to be a local, just stands to reason?

    I guess my point of the post was that the Northerner's are always blaming people from the South of the Prov.and from out of the Prov. for all the poaching crimes committed up there, [hunting and fishing] when facts actually show that is not the case.

    We all have seen over the years these discussions on this forum about all us bad southerners's doing all the poaching up north, and also blaming hunters/fishermen from the states.

    The problem is the people up "there " are doing most of the poaching, a criminal activity, and it is actually the same in all three regions of the prov. the locals are the problem.

    locals will always have a better idea of CO travels and activities and know the grounds well. No surprises here.
    I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

    In my opinion, they are but just because they're not in their own neighborhood. What they do, and how they behave at home where they become the locals, may be altogether different.

    Personally i have only come across one bad hunter and never hunted with him again. He was later reported to the authorities fined and jailed for a short period of time.
