    Question Manitouwadge to Longlac Travel

I'll be passing thru the area and see on the MTO's road map that there are 2 roads between M'wadge & Caramat. Any idea how well marked the "main" road, the Caramat Industrial Rd is marked?

In the past I've run some of the roads south & east of Timmins & Matach'. A few of the the intersections there were head scratchers, mind you that was before GPS. I've drawn a track for my GPS, so I hope that takes out any guess work.

    TIA

Take a compass and a recent map. I wouldn't trust a GPS for accuracy or reliability while running those roads for one second. Too many things can screw up and leave you stranded.

I'm well aware of the limitations of GPS (especially the routing). I've had a few instances myself where the GPS wanted to send me down impassable trails. Common sense said to turn around.

I drove that road a few times in the late 90s and it was fairly easy to follow and in decent shape back than. No clue how it is now.
The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

Apparently it had quite a bit of work done to it in '14. I guess it had been closed to thru traffic due to washouts prior to this.

No trouble driving thru. The current GPS mapping is spot on for the route. Mind you both the Ibycus & Garmin Topo Canada maps show 625 going all the way to Hillsport. Signage @ Caramat indicates that the highway ends about a klick east of the village (as does the pavement).

Back in the 60's the Globe and Mail travel section had a write up about a scenic drive from Sudbury to Timmins via Cartier. When we got there we found the road still had trees growing on it once we passed Onaping Lake......could not get between the stumps.....
