Down here about the only thing you can do - pack a handgun so you a least have a chance when something like this happens - you ain't safe anywhere - I don't know what you can do in Canada - just hope that you ain't in a spot where some terrorist wants to kill people - I'm kinda wondering when Canada is going to get hit with something like this -

We are not immune.
Various terrorist groups have been active all my life in Canada:
FLQ-- various attacks through 1960's; eventually the October Crisis of 1970
Air India bombing in 1885
Squamish Five in 1982 Bomb a factory making Cruise Missile parts.
Joseph Paul Michael Bibeau--"lone wolf" Islamist kills soldier and makes it into Parliament Center Block before being killed himself.
There are lots of smaller attacks of various sorts in the last 100 years also.
