Ok. It was your over simplification of an already simplified headline "government is going to drop the language requirement for immigrants!!!!" That I had a hard time with. I inferred that you were taking the stance that immigrants already have an easy enough time getting in and JT is making the situation worse; this may not have been your intent. However, having attended my wife's citizenship ceremony just last week ( ) and having seen and been part of her application process I can assure you there a number of "language requirements" that can be done away with or modified to make the process easier for candidates who are very qualified and entitled to take the citizenship oath.

It served it's purpose which was getting him a big majority win. It had nothing to do with humanitarian help. No different than Wynne using over a $ Billion of tax money to win a few seats. Using tax money to win is basic liberal policy.
