I've been in the Vaughn store a couple of times (in the area). IMO it didn't seem as outdoors oriented as their US stores or the more recent Cabela's in Barrie. I guess that's what 1 could expect being located in a big "consumer" mall in the GTA.
The parking @ Vaughn Mills has been terrible the 2 times I was there. Would I drive from Apsley there? Nope. I spent more time trying to exit the lot than I did in the store.
That all being said, last fall I bought a UA camo hoodie for my nephew @ Easthill after looking @ Sail & Gagnon's.

Well for me I,m a mom & pop kinda guy, I,ve been to some of Cabelas largest stores in the U .S. Very impressive, been to Bas Pro more than once , but I,m a specialty kinda guy especially for waterfowl ammo , Bass Pro does not meet my needs here in Niagara ,I,m a little tired of hearing whatever the U.S. Stores send us , that's why we don,t stock this or that ! Whether BP buys Cabelas I could really care less not gonna lose any sleep over it !

One American company buying out another American company? Meh!! 95% of everything I buy comes from Canadian Tire. The rest comes from Gagnon Sports in Oshawa. I've always been a big believer in "buying local".
