Carbon tax plus retirement scam tax. Then you add in the sale of Hydro and if there is any need Trudough will hand her the money to balance the books next election. The Liberals will rule Canada until the banks foreclose. They may be crooks but they are smart crooks and have covered all angles.

Global warming!? Sounds like Chicken Little to me. Global climate has been constantly changing for 3 million yrs. What, are we special? I think a lot of people are using this paranoia, to line their own pockets. Makes me sick!

To put this into perspective. Let's use the typical family. Let's say they earn the mean. Have no Pension or job security.
    4.3 per litre is 5% of today's prices of .8 or .9/litre
My annual gas budget is $3,600. So it will cost me $180 more.
I live in the burbs and have Go Transit. Someone in the Golden Toronto with the TTC and easy access to so much. It might not touch them much.....

Rural or Small Town Ontario where trucks are the norm (not Prius) and grocery stores, work, entertainment, are far away. Let's say gas budget is $8,000. So an additional $500/year.

    Add $1,000 in Hydro hikes
    add $1,500 for ORPP ( 75,000 x .02)

$3,000 in disposable income from people that already can't save for their own retirements....$3,000 from their kids activities, maybe new appliances, or living life a little. And also the economy, employing people.......

Any OPP, Teachers or PS want to chime in? I thought the left had the social conscious after all.

makes me sick, what they've done to this province and the little guys, the peons who work hard..

When you work for the government, increases just don’t bother you...you will get a 2% pay increase each year. ORRP does not affect those with a defined pension plan (both Private and Public). This is the reason the public service or Auto industry did not care about ORRP in last election. Who this will hurt is the small business and private companies, job killers. This (ORRP) and the WSIB premiums on Corporations and small business net earnings is the reason I am closing down mine.

Don't forget the pending threat to farmers and the road tax on diesel. Of course the farmers will just soak up the cost!
This whole Green initiative to me is nothing more than an artificial economy created to publicly fund an industry that is not required. Moreover the part the left-wing types miss is that the money is not directly put into green initiatives. We all know this is yet another tax where the money will simply fall into the general coffers. Add to that the Drive Clean program that was supposed to be budget neutral, which now generates revenue that is once again thrown into the general pile of money that Wynne continues to spend as if there is a printing press in the basement at Queen's Park.
Suffice to say that within this forum I am stating the obvious to all. One can just hope that the next election will see them voted into oblivion...
