Ottawa gets a pylon and some of the young leafs will get a shot with impressing Babs.
Nothing at all wrong here, get rid of 7 million for a lot of years and take back about the same over 3 guys that can easily be dealt now.

No retained salary! What a win for the Leafs!
Lets just hope that they continue losing to get a good place in the Auston Matthews sweepstakes......

Let's hope this opens up cap. I want to see Stamkos in Toronto.

This is a great deal, three mediocre players and Matt Fratten for four mediocre players. For Dion,Toronto gets a new Zamboni. Works for me!

Who gets to inherit the scapegoat position? Without Kessel and Phaneuf they have a vacancy to fill there.

Lou Lamarello has (or had)a policy where the team captaincy is temporary and shared among team mates for a short time per member. He may do the same thing here to take pressure off individuals that are holding the position.

Wrong place and wrong time for Stamkos, He will require big money and how good will he still be when the leafs are good enough to matter in 5 or so years. Don't get me wrong I like the kid but it's not a good fit at the moment for the leafs or Stamkos as I am sure he would like to win sooner than later.
