first thing to reference your hydro bill to is KWH used per day......everything on the bill is determined by that..

Revenue tools. Just pay the bill and dont be homophobic. Are u surprised? Did u read the auditor generals report stating that we overpaid by 37 BILLION for our hydro consumption last year alone. Our prices have/ will go up another 40% this year. So unless like Big Mac hinted at you have used copious amounts of hydro over the last billing period or something is wrong with your dumb meter we will all have to get used to this rape and pillage scheme.
Heavy sarcasm in the above statement but lots of truth as well, .

Not sure how outrageous that is.
rates have been skyrocketing, as well on Jan 1st they stopped the 10% rebate. So if you average was 400. Well add another 40.

heres the kicker. While I'm not sure what mine was 2 yrs ago. I could likely check old bills, but it was probably between 350-400.
I know I've reduced my useage quite a bit.

my bills last week was 640.00

Can an only imagine what it's like for single moms, who don't earn a lot, can't save a dime, have to spend less and less (yeah that's good for the economy) and for whom reitement is a pipe dream. They've gutted the "middle class" and less fortunate.

Just wait until you have to cough up 1.8% of your salary to fund the "wink wink" Ontario Pension plan. It will be nothing but a slush fund used to balance books in election years. Then you can expect the coming carbon taxes to finish you off if you"re still breathing. Again that will trigger trickle down inflation and further erode you capacity to pay for that outragous Hydro bill. Will the tax have any effect on emmissions? No, absolutely not.

You want to see a firestorm Terry, that might finally see them kicked to the curb?

remove the ORPP "qualifications" ( love the way they say those who qualify like its a good thing) such that "everyone" has to kiss 2% goodbye on top of everything the peons are getting hit by. Fair is fair right?
    *******

For months now I've been half tempted to add up all the various taxes, fee increases (liscence plates are up 70% in the past 3-4 years).
Then tally how much the typical Ontarian who earns above the mean, but less than the 10-15% ers. Aka someone who earns around 60,000. Now imagine that someone being a single parent. Whether it's a dad squeezing by after child cost. A mom with a dead beat dad,(50% of people get divorced) or simply the normal working stiff.

Hydro alone is likely taking an additional $1,000 to $1,500 per year from the average since say 2012. ORPP with take about $1,200 more if you earn 60k. 2,500-3,000 in disposable income, from people who already can't save.

and certain people wonder why the "public" has no sympathy or animosity.

Friend of mine just bought a farm. He paid $20K to have hydro connected. He has not yet moved into the house. His first month bill was $312. Though he used just 30 kwh (typical usage for one day in a residential home) in a 30 day period the delivery charges still applied to the tune of $142 plus other taxes, fees.
