Hard to picture your grandparents as a young active couple but they really were, in most cases. We can often remember our parents but not the previous generation.

My Condolences, I got my grandmother to write out alot of what she could remember of the family history. If he didn't maybe spend some time writing for your kids (and grandkids etc.).

Good recommendation. I've been able to trace back to the early 1700s on my Father's side ,and it really does something to your sense of family.
