But my coolest acquisition over the holidays was an old Dual turntable and a couple boxes of LPs we grabbed yesterday off kijiji. Been listening non-stop ever since.

Definitely nice turntables. Wish I still had mine, the platter alone weighed a ton.

congrats on the new addition!! i cannot imagine having to deal with that over the holidays, but i am sure it is better than any Christmas gift.

this was my daughters first Christmas, so she got lots of clothes and toys and although she doesn't really understand what was happening, it was amazing seeing all the love that surrounds her. my addition to her many gifts was a nuce trapper hat that she will fit into shortly. next year when she gets what Christmas is (ie santa and toys), it will be even more exciting. i am usually a bit of A grinch around the holidays, but she will help get me out of that mood!!

my wife is really starting to get the hint, and pretty much gets me only hunting and fishing gear. I got a pair of bib pants, which i returned and got a much better pair, i got the meateater complete guide to big game hunting, a set of pots and pans for backpacking and shore lunches, plus lots of odds and ends like new gloves etc..

for my wife i decided i was finally going to get our old record player going again. i got her a new needle for it (kind of a gift for both of us) and a vinyl box set of one of her favorite artists (amy winehouse) and some other music related things. plus she already has lots of vinyl to listen to, we just havent had a working turntable for a few years.
together we just bought a Chromecast plug in for the TV. it is a very useful tool fro streaming on the TV etc.
