I saw a blue flashing light from the 403 earlier, on the Fiddlers Green bridge. Now I know why:

Ancaster home invasion: 1 dead, another in hospital

A home invasion in Ancaster Monday has left one person shot dead and another in hospital.
At about 10:45 p.m. police were called to a home on Miller Drive. One person in the home was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on scene. A second person with head injuries was transported to Juravinski Hospital.
Police investigators said in an email that they believe "this was not a random attack and the victim was targeted." They are asking anyone in the area who has video surveillance footage to contact police. Three ambulances were on the scene as well. Police say efforts to save the person were tried but failed.
Hamilton police say a post mortem on the body will be conducted Tuesday.
