Carlton Place Road trip

Might have a road trip to Carlton Place from Bancroft coming up in the near future, but it looks like one of those "can't get there from here" situations. Dont want to go the long route, highway seven OR highway 417.
Haven't travelled the Vennachar- Plevna- Ompah route in 35 years.....any ideas?

28 east to 65 south east to calabogie then 511 south to Lanark and then east again to Carelton place. May not be the quickest but it looks like the most relaxing .

There is a way that takes you from Ferguson falls road through to Northbrook on 41, it has been a while though.

The roads were good but daytime would be better.

Sounds like 65 to Calabogie, then 511 south is the way to go. Back in the 70-80's we used to travel the hydro lines and back roads of that whole area, but then they fixed the roads and things got too busy for our kind of camping.
