I for one am glad Leslie did not get defense. He was shunned from being CDS for a reason, he is an elitist officer with a false sense of self being, he would have been the downfall of the CAF. Do the research, he too his wife's family name, because it was better aligned with military history. F$#king bull cr@# . I do however have respect with the current Chief of Defense. A Reservist, a Policemen, and a realist.

Essentially the most important portfolio - Transportation - went into good hands.
Garneau is smart, Savvy in several areas of transportation, connected in that industry, and one helluva stand up guy.
Had the Libs made him party leader, I would have considered voting red.
About 80% of the rest of the appointments are jokes and drivel though. This should be an entertaining 4 yrs.

Heavily stacked with GTA Liberals..rewarded?
In the end appointments have never (or rarely) been about merit, so.....Maybe the question people might want to ask JT is why of his 184 seats, only 50 women to begin with.....

.........and every one of them has no experience in their prospective portfolios nor,in one case, been in this country for more than ten years. All these appointments were politically correct choices to show that the Liberal Party under Trudeau is truly "progressive" and to shut up the special interests. It'll be intersting to see what the rest of Canada thinks about cabinet being "made in Toronto".

I agree Mott. Garneau is a good choice for that portfolo but the skeptic in me says that was a reward for him stepping out of the leadership race. Time will tell.

Did anyone read his story, back ground or are we just judging book by their covers? You should see of picture of him in his field dress while in the field, boots on the ground, risking it all.
He has quite a back ground.
