Back to the victims - dead as well as still living - will be trying to make the vigil in Wilno tonight at 7:30, coming all the way from Ottawa.
Hope many others do as well.

Sorry that I have to say this - but your all wrong - if one of these women saw this guy coming to their house or breaking in or whatever - she could have gotten a gun and defended herself - if she knew that this guy was dangerous she could have had a gun in the house that was easy to get at real quick - you can't keep a criminal in jail forever - you know that - at least you should -
I think the problem is - most of you guys have been born into a system where guns are looked at as something bad and people shouldn't have them - even if it means using one to save your life -
For Pete's sake - at least give me a chance to defend myself when I'm in danger - maybe the circumstances for such that a gun isn't enough to save me but at least give me a chance - thousands of lives are saved each year here in the states because they had a gun to either use or show when a person's life is threatened - Oh - I don't see how I derailed this thread - the issue of defending yourself shouts out for attention
Meanwhile - back at the ranch - everything is real quiet

Joe was the one who derailed it and turned it into a thread about handguns and defense, there was no way for them to defend themselves, no handgun, shotgun or anything else would have stopped this guy.
RIP
Exactly. Well said. My friend's psycho knows where she works. He can meet her anytime on the way to or from work.
Good for you for going to the memorial Oddmont.
Joe : Please give the American gun lobby talk a rest. There is another side to your position.

It was a nice ceremony. But kind of... incomplete. Quite clear that nobody knows how to accept and deal with the tragedy.
I'll be honest... It was very odd and surreal to be in that crowd, gathered for that reason/cause... Alongside some very well-known women abusers. I can't fathom why they'd show up. But I guess it is just another bit of proof as to how sociopathic they truly are.

That's quite a statement to make,Oddmot. Known women abusers in the crowd? I can't imagine why they'd want to be seen at something like that, either. Usually, you can only find them if you kick over an old stump.

Kudos for going to support them. It's something we all should be doing.....enough is enough ! The justice system has to be changed. This type of tragedy is unfortunately not uncommon.
