I agree with you joe. Not a couple of days worth of supplies. A couple of months. I keep about two weeks worth on hand in the city and some gasoline enough for a few tanks with stabilizer in it. If it is real bad and I go north I just need to get there where I have a full on root cellar lots of ammo, supplies etc.. For if the goin gets tough. The worst we've ever seen here is three days or so but is that as bad as its gonna get? I'm not gambling on that one. Cheers.

I agree with you about the common sense aspect of being prepared, but as we see oh so often within the masses, common sense is not so common?
Agreed... That paranoid guy sweating alone sitting in his basement with a shotgun waiting for the Feds to show up or the zombie apocalypse... Relax buddy like Jim Morrison said "no one gets out of here alive" anyways... Lol
But being prepared is just smart. I think more are actually moving towards becoming self sufficient these days with the unstable global economy, extreme weather knocking systems offline, etc. A move to backyard chickens, gardens, wild meat, solar power, stuff like that... Just makes sense.

OK,picture this. It's 2AM,Fire Fighters are banging on your door evacuating the town and you've got about 15 minutes to haul a** or die. How many people have a "bug out" kit for every member of the family and an action plan of were to get to in a hurry? I'll bet 1 in 1000 and that's a big maybe. The way things are going with a crumbling infrastructure, job losses and climate change,it could happen fast. Something to think about.

It happened in Alberta with the floods. Ontario had some decent ones too.
