Angry Careful driving this weekend and going forward... you will soon be guilty with no appeal on tickets.

You will soon be guilty with essentially no appeal on tickets in Ontario if new rules go in.

Ontario taking away the right to fight tickets.

Can't see it happening, and charges laid now go to the municipalities.

I'm surprised the Liberals haven't brought back photo radar. A greater "revenue tool" has never existed.

/wonders where the Harper haters, Liberal defenders are.

This like some other things ( the gea and wind farms for 1 example) really rankles. Previously, when ticketed I would just sign it and pay my fine. I know when I was speeding or X and to me, I own my mistakes.

But that was my choice. Now, it's a little more um...police statish, draconian.

I guess you have never been charged for something that was not true.

I have paid any parking or speeding ticket when warranted but I will fight when charged for things that I did not do. This happens a lot, things are a lot worse for young males.

Actually fox, with the exception of one charge in my teens, I haven't. Not suggesting people don't get charged for things they haven't done, or aren't warranted. And do agree that leo isn't always
    -fair
-lenient (powers of discretion where for what ever reason they come down hard, vs maybe let people off with warnings)
    - whatever

Just that for myself, I know when I'm caught and have never fought a ticket. I man up and say, yep I was "speeding" or X. No-ones fault but my own, why waste the officers time, the courts resources, etc. Sign and pay. But that's my choice.

    Either way, this is pure.........
Funny that, for the all the "cries" about Harper being the devil, or Hudak trampling on people and their "rights".................

And this isn't the only bald faced example of this party....

I own up to things that I do wrong but I also own a modified Jeep and have brothers who had lowered cars and lifted trucks. It can be almost as bad as the guy breaking your tail light when walking to the window then handing you a ticket for having a light out. People in our group of friends have been charged for having an unsafe vehicle and forced to get a safety when their 36 day safety was still valid.

When someone in their 50s gets stopped driving that car and when they see them the officer says "Oh, sorry, have a nice day", you know there is something fishy going on.

    Nothing like age discrimination.

guys I was stopped 2 weekends ago, coming down a steep hill just west of Mosport raceway ( for those familar with this area ).

could see his car on the opposite side at the bottom of the hill but to late, pulled over, had license ownership and could only find outdated insurance before he was even turned around, he came up to the truck, told me the speed I was going at top of hill and speed 1/2 down,. I told him I had the updated insurance but he said don't look for it and said he would work on the ticket, came back, wrote me up for outdated insurance $60. even though I had found the proper insurance, he said it would have been a $250. + speeding ticket plus 4 points , so I thanked him an went on my merry way, a little slower of course, had me dead to rights and probably any other and I have the other ticket.

but that is the first time I've been stopped in about 10 years for speeding.
