Coons also do a share of nest raids. I have a island in the back pond and at least 2 different snappers nest on it yearly. Also have been seeing plenty of painted of all sizes. Also had a Blandings turtle in the back yard a few yrs ago, first one I ever seen in person. Looked like a army helmet with legs. Just a rule of thumb for people to remember when the turtles are laying eggs is the same time strawberries are ready, so have an eye on the back roads and try not running them over

I didn't even know we had them up here I only see soft shells in Florida are they the same??
