So... subversion of democracy is okay... just as long as you get called out for it some - as yet undetermined - number of times less than the current Libs have?
*head scratch*
To clarify your claims that Canada's national economy is strong... it's not. It's steady.
We have a high national unemployment rate, which is growing. And despite weathering the 2008-2012 global economic crisis better than most G8 countries, we are now falling behind the other G8s in rebound growth. We're essentially stagnant with no plan in place, or even proposed, to improve matters.
While Harper certainly hasn't bungled nearly so many initiatives, nearly so bad as the ON Libs have with the myriad of "projects" you listed, let's not get carried away claiming he's worked any miracles or that the CDN national economy is impervious to harm.
And, if your score card is simply keeping track of scandals that have "stuck". I'll point out to you that Wynne has slipped out of more tight spots than Harper has... and nothing has been stuck to her at all. So... by that scoring system, some could argue she's even the better politician.
You know I have no problem saying I'd rather have Harper at the helm of Canada (or ON) than anyone currently in Liberal leadership. That doesn't mean i have to pretend he's clean or that his methods aren't exactly as dirty as Wynne's.

Not so different than say "scandals"
If you want to get philosophical about it , or wish for Utopia ( A world where Policticians always put us first and there are no scandals, etc)
No one to blame but yourself. You condone it.
"You" being anyone.
As you said, 'all" govt do it (it being X Y or Z). Always have, always will. That will never change.
I accept that.
What I don't accept, is when those actions (XY or Z) have quantifiable, heavy impacts on "us".
See Harper and Canada. For the most part his reign has been beneficial and a day may come when even you and ITD thank him.
See Wynne and Ontario.
Comparing them is laughable. If you want to be facetious
/headscratch.
And with respect to the economy/rebound.
Point me to one decade in time when we haven't trailed the larger countries. Yeah, the downturn in oil has hurt some and there are other factors. The fact remains, Canada fared well, very well (relatively speaking).
Did you expect Canada to be the shining star forever with our 36million population?

Re last. "You know I have no problem saying I'd rather have Harper at the helm of Canada (or ON) than anyone currently in Liberal leadership. That doesn't mean i have to pretend he's clean or that his methods aren't exactly as dirty as Wynne's."
I know you don't
I am simply pointing out, whether its scandals, or shenanigans during elections, or "vote buying"
Harper has nothing on Ms Wynne. They aren't remotely comparable. Am not sure how to word this.
Harper does things, no doubt. So far, he has done what he bleives is right for Canada and is often "rightZ". Ms Wyne and the Unions, whats right for them.
Yeah Harper like the Libs piled on debt (heres another comparison).
A) Canada could "afford" it, Ontario couldn't (not that much).. See credit downgrades if nothing else.
B) Where did it get "spent"...Canada many things that benefit "us"....Ontario....Unions, the GTA, PS service Salaries/Benefits (this has been deomonstrated many times) buying those elections
C) What do "we" have to show for it
etc, etc.
So if we accept that "stuff" will always occur and that Utopia will never exist. What can we measure it by. I accept all parties will do some vote buying.........World of difference between what Harper has done and what the Liberals have done here to stay in power.
also as for where we are heading. IMO see the US and dogmatic politics there, run by
Unions and Lobby groups.
See Ontario
