lubrico warranty
anybody buy the lubrico warranties on used cars? herd alot of bad stories about them not covering stuff, but i got lucky... think i paid around $2000 for it when we bought the subaru, for 2 years/unlimited kms, and if no claims in that 2 years they double the term till 4 years/unlimited kms... well on year 3, and find out the head gasket is leaking, (about a $2500 repair). apparently a very common non turbo subaru problem. they sent the heads out to be inspected and apparently they are also warped. warranty covered the new head gasket, but wont pay for new heads but instead found some used heads and are haveing the refurbished... not crazy on that idea, but guess its better than the alternative of coming out of my pocket... so all in all final bill is probably somewhere around $4000, so guess i got my money's worth out of it figured while they got everything out might as well buy some new plugs and timing belt and have them toss it in and save the labor...
fishy steve
id rather be lost in the woods, than found in the city!

Lubrico has a "decent" name among aftermarket warrantee companies. These companies are essentially insurance companies, they sell you a "policy"....and then bank that you will never collect. Some make it very difficult to make a claim. For example, you need to go to one of their approved shops. Often they will insist that you pay for the labour to actually diagnose the problem, even if its plain as day, or they will only warrantee the part, but you eat the labour.
Sounds like you had a good experience. I find it's touch and go with aftermarket warrantees.
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.

Warrantee companies are there to make a profit, same as any other company. If they have to eat too many repairs, they they must raise their prices to cover their staff, repair costs and still make a profit for the owners.
