Blair will be right at home
I just got back from a few more months in Saskatchewan, and lo and behold, what do I see but this match made in heaven.
Bill Blair, Toronto's recently-departed police chief, announced that he's a Liberal - although I strongly suspect that after years of saying whatever it took at promotional boards, he would quickly have found some Conservative "principles" if the winds had been blowing from that direction.

Another open nomination process.??? Blair and Turdeau already disagree on weed so not sure how this relationship will work out although my guess is that Blair will soon forget about his principals and see thins jt's way.

Blair will not only get the nomination but will also get the seat. It's a Liberal GTA seat. Chief of police is a political job, he's not a rooky at this game. He will be earning half of what he did as a cop but likely sees the Liberals as the next government which is entirely possible. Guaranteed he becomes a Minister under Trudough.

Exactly. Sniffin', fingerpointin', cheerleadin', backstabbin', dodgin' and duckin'.....it's all old hat.

Makes you wonder why a guy his age who made near $400k wants to go to Ottawa? I'm sure he could make more money outside government.

I'm pretty sure he can't - that's why he's looking to get his snout back in the public feed trough.

Yeah maybe. AuntiWynne would likely find a way of taking care of him comfortably if needed.

Scarborough southwest is currently held by the dippers so no guarantee it will be a cakewalk for Blair.

Blair is a "STAR" candidate and in the GTA, hell in Ontario now people vote in corrupt incompetent liars. Still it would be funny to see the big shot lose.

Between his OMERS pension (cops are special category within OMERS) and his MP's pension (if he serves long enough) he'll be making more retired than he did working.
