    Default Street legal D.B. insurance

Seems as though the lefty tario has stopped insurance on street legal dunes and rails. Hagerty, lants, aviva (all one company) nobody. Well MAYBE facilities at half the price of the buggy. Want to drive it 20 kliks a year. Seriously on the trailer to the show, back on the trailer and home to locked garage. Just 2- 2 1/2 months per year and only PLPD. No can do. Anyone out there in insurance and feels like helping or even advice I'd sure appreciate

I'm told a place called "Hub international insurance". Anyone know?

This is thee only province it's even an issue

Was blue plated right up till me buying late last fall. I'm wondering if I tell my agent/broker I've decided that to get any use at all just insure me same as my quad then take safety and insurance into MTO ?

Have you tried telling your insurance company that if they won't accommodate you you can find another company for your other insurance requirements? May not work but worth a shot?
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

    Yep
Everything today is policy/procedure driven. What You get is

"We don't write those. If You feel You need to go elsewhere it's up to You just remember there's a penalty for cancelling before renewal date. Have a great day"

That's a comp I've been with for near 4 decades

That's a safety standard issue which was negated by me getting a safety. The insurance didn't even see the pic fenders or not. In ontario Street legal dunes or rails are a no go for insurance. So like I said. Why couldn't I just insure for off rd like my 4 wheeler then with pink slip and safety walk on into MTO

Hard to believe that you would get the shaft for that when there oodles of jacked up trucks about as vertically safe as the LT of Pisa, steering geometry that makes your head spin. Dump trucks, freight trucks where a lot can't pass safeties.

Funny You'd mention the fact "ALL THOSE XXXXXXX" cause that's exactly where it's at. I finally pumped my usual agent into a grain of truth. She said "We're in this to make money. High risk items don't make us much money cause the losses come close to the rewards, however. We're willing to suffer that cause even if the net we made with bikes, trucks etc was'nt much, that not very much is multiplied by how many? We'd cut them out too if they didn't make up such large numbers. We're willing to cut buggies and rails lose because like the others they don't net much, and that not much may only be multiplied by 5 or 6 for every insurance broker.

    In short.........Follow the money

She don't even want to see what it is on ownership. All brokers said and I quote "Are the optics of it a dune buggy or rail?" Uh I guess. Then no we can't.
Ps listed as volks and volks vin. but nobody cares

I thought with the compulsory insurance act in Ontario all automotive insurers had to offer insurance to all legally registered vehicles and drivers?
Maybe not at a good price but insurance all the same.
Without this clause many with a previous poor record wouldn't get insurance either.

    Obligations of agents

    5. An agent shall,
    (a) provide to an owner or lessee of a motor vehicle who is a resident of Ontario an application for automobile insurance; and

    (b) submit to an insurer a completed application for automobile insurance,

    when requested to do so by the owner or lessee of a motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. C.25, s. 5; 1996, c. 21, s. 50 (9).
