What Do You Think Of This Facebook Petition?

I guess the other option is to start a private group where you can post stories and pictures of your hunt on Facebook. This forum seems to work fine for me but it's always an option.

I find cold weather offensive, unless I'm snow skiing (then it's okay). So I want facebook to ban all winter photos.
I also find excessive taxes offensive, which are attracted at all stores and restaurants, so no more photos of people in those facilities.
Oh heck, we should just shut facebook down now, everything's offensive to someone.

In 3 month, 14.000 people signed it over 1.35 billion users.... So, I don't think much about it, just another anti that found something new to complain about. Nothing to worry about.

only time i have had somebody complain about my hunting pictures was from my whack job aunt that emailed me and said she was deleting me off facebook because of my hunting pictures, my response was i guess you forgot how you were raised...

i do hold back on posting anything profane etc out of respect for family and inlaws, and younger family etc alot of stuff i go to post i always think, do i want my 12 year old neice or my wife's aunt who is overly religious to see lol or my father inlaw LOL

I see far less complaining about pics on facebook than i do on here, havent posted a fish picture here in years, may not post hunting pics anymore, still decideing, but will continue on facebook...

Well that's the issue, if you stop posting in here you give a good reason to the X to keep at it.
Don't forget there are a lot more readers than posters in any forum that are here to enjoy looking at the posted pictures. Let's just ignore the other side and keep posting memories!

Some good discussion for sure, and while I certainly understand some peoples stance / feelings towards Facebook, and that's fine as well. But the point of the post was more, how do you feel about the fact that places like Facebook (if it is legit) or stuffed rabbits being pulled from an artshow at Fanshawe (thanks Sharon for the link) trying to sensor out hunting, or anything related to it.

I get, and understand that sometimes we need to pick our battles, and be selective about what we share, and where, not apologize for, but also not draw unwanted attention.

But when it's organizations like this, flat out saying no, to sharing of what we do, does that not label what we do as bad, wrong, immoral, etc... and send the wrong message to impressionable people that may not have made up their mind on the subject yet? and possibly deter them from entering into our world?

I recall the recent post my trappermat a few weeks ago where he shared the pictures and stories of a school / classroom embracing what he has to share, offer, and teach, and the kids eating it up, who knows, maybe that story or picture, that someone happens to see by accident, sparks their curiousity, and gets them interested in hunting, from an otherwise non hunting family.

No right or wrong, just good food for thought.

I'll never apologize for what I am, and what I do, I will never hide it, but at the same time, I do understand there is a limit, a time, and a place.

to me its just a issue of, if you dont like dont look at it... i have a fealing its the same people that signed this petition that got bugs bunny takin off the air years ago... if they are that set against hunting, then they shouldnt have hunters on their facebook to begin with...

I have asked friends and family not to post any pictures which may have myself or my family in them on Facebook. If we should want photos of us on Facebook we will post them ourselves or advise them that it's ok for them to do so. I also feel that other groups or persons whining about a person sharing their successful hunting or fishing pictures should stop and look at what they themselves share. Can't stand getting info shared about when people are having a movement, what they are eating, who they are in a relationship with or those stupid games. Share if you wish and be proud of your pastime or hobbies.
