Default Homelessness - Humans for Humans Campaign

Pretty much the hardest hitting awareness campaign I've ever seen.

Glad to see it though. Working on my own pet project that'll help address some homelessness (in a semi-roundabout manner) among other serious societal issues. Building a project profile, support structure, business promotions plan... before we attempt to get crowdfunding.

In all the years I've spent on this Earth,I haven't once yet heard anyone say "Gee,I think I'll go live on the street just for fun." Bad things happen to good people. Simple life events occuring all at once, could put anyone of us in that position, literally overnight. Good on you,Oddmot. Good luck with your project.

    Truer words...

Young kids and women escaping abusive homes, folks losing their jobs and then their spouses, illness and injury robbing folks of the ability to work.... there's an endless spectrum of bad things that can happen to cause someone's life to unravel and catch them out on the streets.

Rarely does it begin with alcohol/drug abuse... and even rarer is it a "choice".

Our project (hopefully) won't need luck, it'll take a ton of hard work, and we will need help and support. Either ppl care enough to support it, or they don't.
You can be darn sure I'll be hitting up OODMAG forums for some of said help. :-) Not just in the form of monetary donations, but also time/information donated by those with knowledge of agricultural, forestry, construction, etc, as well as donations of old equipment like tractors, attachments, chainsaws, etc.

All too often i hear folks say we need to focus less on helping other nations, and more on fixing the problems at home. Well, hopefully they stand behind their words.

It's been percolating for more than a few years. Recently, it's begun to take form. I could wait until i'm in my mid-late 40s to try to tackle/launch it all on my own... or i can take advantage of a few key, knowledgeable folks who've offered to help out and the cresting wave of crowd-funding and launch it right away.

I figure, i've got nothing to lose by going for it now... and if it falls flat, i can still try to pull it all off on my own 10-15 yrs from now.
