Just part of the fun of new destinations. BC we would hear about a place, pack our stuff and head out. Once read a glowing report about the new road north from Cartier. When we got there we found that they were still clearing the stumps in the bush.
Mostly we would hear about a spot, buy a topo map and figure out what the lake held when we got there. Now that there is Google, be happy when you find a spot no one else has reported on.....or head for the Trent system.

We would find lakes that didn't have any signs that others had launched a boat. Many of those lakes are still available and while they have a better launch, you seldom see more than one other boat on them.
