LAPD Skid-Row Shooting
Warning, Language / Content
Will be interesting to see what the outcome is, clearly the suspect was not following orders, and assaulting officers, and I wasn't there, to see exactly what happened, I just find it really hard to imagine, that 6 officers, with batons, and tasers, couldn't apprehend the suspect without deadly force.
Can be seen giving a good physical subduing, then can hear the tazers, then the shots to much of the other officers surprise start ringing out.
Reports on the street are all over the map, as to be expected, but one does say he tried to reach for one officers gun, after which he was shot.

Oh boy, the video does look bad? This should be good for a month or so of rioting across the country?

Ahh I don't know about this one. Mixed emotions I guess.
If the guy was guilty of the robbery..... put him in the ground, nuff said.
He certainly shouldn't have been resisting and it did look and sound like he had the cops gun.
All that said the cops should be in control of their weapons at all times. How big of pansies are these guys that they can't handle a four on one? One skinny little homeless guy that one could bet wouldn't be in the best shape of his life can't be handled by four or originally six beach muscle packing cops? Sheesh!
How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

It's difficult to arrest any person without skinning them up when they fight. Just simple physics. Then it's potentially a big legal mess.
It's why you use 6 cops to arrest a skinny homeless guy. You try to prevent him from fighting, thus any potential injury that Holder and big brother will crucify the dept. and you with.
In years past, there was a single cop with only a gun and he arrested people without any fighting for the most part.
The video looks like a cop lost his baton/asp, one cop broke off to grab the woman that picked it up. Looks like the suspect got a cop's gun and it appears he shot the cop on the far left, judging by his disengagement and he looks to be looking for a bullet wound in his torso.
Cops wear appropriate holsters, but it's not impossible for someone else to remove the firearm from it.

Nice language from the spectator - seems like a lot of trash roaming around the place - some people need to climb out of the gutter - I stand with the cops on this one -

Haven't watched, it's unlikely I'll watch. It is what it is.
Is it mentioned anywhere if he was jacked (high)? That changes things (imo).
ok, I did watch it and agree with SP. Looks like the cop who was on left is definitely reacting to something hitting him in the torso.

There is only one reason why someone disarms an officer and gets his gun.....and it isn't to have a souvenir! As posted earlier, we were not there. As for four officers fighting one guy ...... You obviously have never faught with someone high on drugs !

I read a report by the LAPD. They are stating the LEO's gun was in a state that indicated someone was grabbing for it. There is other evidence that shows that this was reaction to the man's attempts to grab a gun. It is common knowledge that it takes many people to arrest someone with due care to not hurting them if said person is resisting.
Til I see different I am leaning toward justified reaction by police.
There is room for all God's creatures - right next to the mashed potatoes!

If you're told that you're under arrest and you resist and grab a Policeman's gun,to me,it's a Darwin Award.
