Trying to come up with a way from Ottawa On to Kamloops BC that don't break the bank and You get at least 10% of Your stuff in one piece. I don't mind renting a truck. Problem is for the 3 bed house and contents of a 1200 sq/ft shop to load a fellow doesn't want to be in a great big hurry cause he's jammed into a tight rental agreement schedule

My daughter and family rented a "pod" on their last move , Orangeville to Whitby. After getting it half loaded they found that it leaked and had to be replaced. When they got to Whitby the deal had not closed so they were stuck in a hotel with all their clothes in the pod at their new house.
Lots of horror stories but anywhere is better than the GTA....

Brother bought a sea container, move everything in and contracted a trucking company to move it from trenton to cold lake AB. cheaper than movers.

You might want to try a shipping container(s). They can either be shipped by truck or a combination rail/truck.
