Looks like an awesome trip well done. Gotta love getting around the cracks.
I'm in the toss up debate right sled vs atv that's going to be my goal for next season. Wife wants the atv all year round I'd rather the sled on ice just for the ease of of crossing. Every year simcoe sees a dozen atvs down in cracks each year. Some years worse than others. But sometimes we don't have alot of snow either lol.

What do you think the Ling weighted?

Found an online estimator for Canadian Burbot and based on the measurements Burbot was somewhere between 12 and 13 pounds.

Mixed dinner tonight of Burbot and Walleye with fried potatoes and peas:

Fourth feed off the catch so far. Taking a break after this as have had fish 4 out 5 nights in a row. Still have enough for 2 or 3 more feeds like this.

The regulation here is a limit of 4 and only one can be larger than 18”. I like to target walleye in the 15.5-16.5” (Goldilocks) range… good portion on the plate. I usually release fish that are under 15” and will only keep fish in the 16.5-18” range if fishing is slow.

Your slot/limit is pretty standard in Northern Ontario i think. Nip sees a ton of recreational pressure and supports a commercial fishery so the slot is pretty tight - as it should be. I know the slot/limit on Abitibi NE of Timmins is the same as yours as I typically hit it once or twice in April for late ice.
