Ya we've had some big temp swings over the past couple weeks. Every year I plan to hunt over the holidays and it rarely happens until the last couple days of December. I got pretty frustrated this season and actually only got out 3 times in December. East winds on the weekends down here really threw a wrench in my plans, and motivation. Managed to get out the morning of Dec.31st and took a small doe. A first for me. I've never had a deer cooperate on the last day of the season!
Perfect temperature right now to let it hang for a few days, but i'll try to process it this weekend before it gets too cold and freezes.

nothing wrong with that Doe. I was out on the 31st as well had a Doe at 20yds but heard me move my butt on chair and gone this was 8mins into legal shoot so figured my season was over, but I started the morning saying I was staying till 10 so I stayed. At 9 I saw 2 deer on the opposite side of me coming to my shooting lane but a bit to far to shot. then a third that walked right up to the bush and turned my way, so many eyes on me I didn't want to move than another about 30yd board side in perfect spot. the one that was by bush walked up broad side than turned to face me on the ground 10ft away. still didn't have bow up as didn't want to move. the 1 in front of me decided didn't like me and took off. one at 30yds still there had bow up by this time so took aim just before I pulled trigger another deer steps in way then clears so again I was about to pull trigger and another walks by I finally go clear shot and fired. All took off down field. I watched them go all 6 of them with flags high and no stragglers. They went a 1km down field and turned north. I went out check for blood or hair nothing, packed up back to vehicle and drove to end of road where the were heading. All still standing in a corn field and took off back to bush all still healthy. Clean miss. So headed home and put my hunting stuff away,
